Rotating Proxy
A proxy endpoint that assigns a different IP address on every request or after a set interval.
Rather than binding you to one address, a rotating proxy pulls a fresh IP from the provider's pool according to a rotation policy — per request, per session, or on a timer. Rotation is what makes large-scale scraping viable, since it spreads requests across thousands of addresses and keeps any single IP below a target's rate limit.
In practice
- A crawler issuing 10,000 requests, each from a different IP
- Rotating every 10 minutes to keep a session alive but not static
